Originally all production was carried out organically. Now through hotiponics the system has meant that production is increased together with a higher grade of product.

The Products
The main production of villa nursery is salads the production and distribution. At present cucumbers has been the main salad but this can be switched to peppers or any other salad with reasonable notice. The product at present is top grade cucumbers. All the main supermarkets are supplied with our product including Tesco and Sainsburys. Also other wholesale markets can be supplied by request.

Villa nursery has passed the highest levels for growing excellence and is a member of the assured produce scheme who regularly monitor production in this country. The Environment

As a conscientious business the environment is very important to Villa nursery pushing dirty smoke in the atmosphere has always been something that we have been against. To combat this Villa Nursery has invested in a chp unit with energy company Nedalo this is a partnership where the by product of the production of electricity is heat and co2. As we are a major user of heat this is then used by us in the heating system and the co2 is purified and used in the greenhouse for better production only emitting non toxin fumes in the atmosphere.

The Future
Villa nursery is committed to producing the best products for the public and the only way to do so is in a controlled environment such as a glasshouses. The future will be to increase production of all types of foods in this way. Villa nursery will also be recycling water that is used on site therefore bringing down water demand in the area.
